The Brazilian Carnival is the biggest party on earth. A celebration of beauty, happiness, and freedom. We are bringing a piece of the most famous party in the world to Hartford, join us for a unique, colorful, vibrant and incredible experience with samba dancers, food, drinks, music and much more.
On Friday, February 21, 2020, Connecticut Latina/os Achieving Rights & Opportunities (CLARO) will hold its Eleventh Annual Rainbow Ball – “Carnival Night” to celebrate its achievements and to honor individuals whose work and efforts have combatted homophobia and touched the lives of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and intersex (LGBTQ+) community.
The theme is “Carnival Night”! We ask that you join us in wearing your most festive and colorful attire. We encourage masks, feathers, and glitter.
Our Ball offers dinner with wine and an opportunity to participate in fun activities that include raffles, dancing to the varied and lively music of our DJ - My Life Your Entertainment and mingling with old friends as well as making new ones! The Ball begins at 6:30 PM and will be held at The Pond House, which is located on the grounds of Elizabeth Park at 1555 Asylum Avenue, West Hartford, CT. Tickets are $100.00 per person will help to benefit CLARO’s mission and Hartford Pride. A cash bar is available.
CLARO is a tax-exempt 501©3 volunteer organization dedicated to advocacy and education on behalf of the LGTBQ+ community. Our mission centers primarily on addressing sexism, homophobia, and racism as it affects Latino/as and others in the LGTBQ+ community.
